If you're looking for unique and charming homes in Austin, look to the Travis Heights neighborhood. Located in the patio area of Craft Pride , which has 54 taps and 2 cask engines of only Texas Craft Beer, sits one of the most unassumingly delicious food trucks in all of Austin. Austin is not only the capital of Texas, but also the live music hub of the world.

Visit Zilker Park once and you'll see why it's kind of a big deal in Austin. One thing that there is no shortage of in Austin (other than food) is live music. The Texas Hill Country is home to numerous spring-fed pools, but it's hard to find one as convenient as Barton Springs Situated within Zilker Park, the three-acre pool is an exceedingly popular place to cool off in the summer.

It's an amazing thing to see all these artists come out to create this beautifully creative atmosphere.” But don't expect to see the graffiti park the same way twice because local artists repaint and redesign every day. Located on the southwest edge of the city, Austin Zoo provides a home and rehabilitation to rescued animals only, which includes those that can no longer be returned to the wild or domesticated along with stock animals, like goats.

The museum, dedicated in 1971 and refurbished in 2013, contains exhibits relating to the president's time in office, as well as important issues of the day, including the rise of the civil rights movement. Due to the high traffic volume, Barton Springs Pool is closed every Thursday for rigorous cleaning.

Other parts I love about The White Horse is that they have fun games to play (like pool), an outdoor area with a food truck, and free popcorn all night long. Check out an exhibit at the Blanton Museum of Art, Bullock Texas State History Museum or The Contemporary Austin.

Do yourself a favor and sample a few of 'Ëœem; you might just end up making Soursop's Asian street food or Bufalina's Neapolitan pies a part of your standard meal rotation. You can literally find live music everywhere: at bars, at restaurants, in the park, you name it. Every single place that I went in Austin, I could hear music around me.

The Whole Foods Market flagship store in downtown Austin is a treat for all ages (plus, you can get some serious grocery shopping done here!), and there's always a fun event or class to attend with the little ones.
